Artwork Process

The first step of the design process is for the client to set up an appointment to talk over the telephone. This usually happens with in two business days.

After the appointment is set the client will receive a reminder email and then the scheduled phone call. The phone conversation will consist of some simple design questions to help the artist get a “feel” for what the client needs and what approach would be the most logical.

These questions will be something like:

  • What exactly does your company do?
  • Do you have any existing designs or symbols for your company?
  • What would you like your logo to portray? I.e. Strength, Fun, Excitement?
  • Do you have a mission statement or a motto?

These types of questions help the designer get a “visual” for the project. After the conversation a follow up appointment is made for the allotted time discussed.

After the conversation with the client, the designer will come up with some rough ideas to present. These will be real ideas, not just filler. There are five free revisions per client, per job, any revisions after the first five will be $25 each and added to the final price. The goal of the designer is to get it the first time with minor changes according to the customer. The majority of our projects do not see more than four.

After the final revisions are made, the client will get a final rendering of the project for them to approve via email. The project will need to be approved by all involved in the project. Once approved, the designer will build all of the appropriate artwork onto a disk and send it to the client.

The agency will retain a copy of the disk in case there is a problem with the disk or the disk is lost. If a disk is lost it is the responsibility of the client to get a new one from us. There will be a small $15.00 fee covering postage and time used to create the new disk.

There are 3 distinct tiers of work that may be needed.

  • Proofing: Client provides art in electronic form but isn’t sure it will work for our purposes.
  • Clean - up: Client has art but needs rework to be used. I.e. scan, email, jpg, and so on. ($75min.)
  • Creation: Client needs complete design to be created. ($350 min.)
($100 discount with purchase of cups - see Discount Button)
  • All existing artwork should be supplied in the following formats: jpg, eps, psd,  pdf

Or can be scanned and sent to artdirector@printedcup.com.
